Eco-Friendly Laptop Case
This stylish and tactile cork laptop case is handmade from fabric-backed cork, with a custom stitched edging. The softness of the natural cork makes an ideal material for a cover, and the base material is super lightweight and exceptionally durable.
The cork is sourced from a sustainable certified FSC cork farm. After farming its bark the Cork Oak Tree renews itself, and no trees are cut down in this process. Natural cork is an eco-friendly material that completely biodegrades or can be readily recycled without creating any significant secondary wastes.
If the demand for cork is not maintained there are risks that the cork oak landscapes of the western Mediterranean will, within a decade, face increased poverty, more forest fires, loss of biodiversity and faster desertification. It is estimated that the cork oak forests of the Mediterranean basin help offset a massive 10 million tons of carbon dioxide every year, making them a significant carbon sink.
